Ear Candling or Ear Coning is an ancient technique of creating a long cone or funnel usually made out of cotton muslin, which has been soaked in paraffin or bees wax, and various herbs. It is
placed barely in the outer ear canal and lit.
Candling was practiced by ancient civilizations such as the Aztecs, Incas, Mayans, Native Americans, and more recently in Europe.
This healing art is extremely profound, for it is reputed to initiate a healing process that continues for several days after the candling.
Ear Candling can alleviate allergies, sinus conditions, hearing loss, earaches, tinnitus and balance problems. The process also helps to balance cranial fluids, and drain the lymphatic system.
Ear Candling is a natural way that may clean out accumulated wax and white, flaky fungus from the ears. The accumulations withdrawn from your ears may be many months or even years old.
Does Ear Candling hurt? Absolutely not!
It is a painless, harmless and totally relaxing experience.
How long does an Ear Candling session last?
About 45 minutes per session (both ears, with three "cones" per ear); however, you should allow an extra 15 minutes as each person’s ears are different.
Therapeutic benefits of Ear Candling may include:
• Circulation of disinfecting substances.
• Stimulation of the reflex zones and the energy points in the massage by energizing substances.
• Softening of the plugs of cerumen (wax).
• Hearing becomes sharper.
• Sinuses are able to drain and flow freely reducing pressure.
• Drying of the ear drum area.
• Balance and rejuvenation of the equilibrium (inner ear).
The client shown here to the left had several years accumulation of wax; the opened cones below are from only ONE ear!
